I Overcome.

Healed: to cause an undesirable condition to be overcome.

Overcome — not forgotten.
I repeat, overcome, not forgotten.

I’ve learnt over time… time doesn’t heal all wounds.
It just shows you what really happened, and how you’d handle it differently now.

Time doesn’t cover wounds.
It just teaches you where it still hurts, and where not to press.

With time comes understanding. Not always peace, but understanding.

I’d rather say, “In due time...”

In due time, you’ll realize some words said to you were never okay.
In due time, you’ll wake up at 3am, cringing and smacking your forehead.
In due time, you’ll laugh at that moment you said, “I won’t survive without you.”

In due time, you’ll become quieter… not weaker, just more aware.
In due time, you’ll look at your younger self and see her clearly—not to judge her, but to understand her.

In due time, you’ll dance in your room and remember that one time you thought you’d die if someone didn’t stop talking to you. The words didn’t stop. And your chest felt tight, like breathing was something you had to fight for.

In due time, you might feel numb… not because you don’t care, but because you’ve felt enough of it already.
In due time, you’ll realize the love you were looking for outside was something you had to learn how to give yourself first.

In due time, you’ll watch Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance and actually understand it… and smile.

Being healed isn’t the end.
It’s not some final version of you.
It’s just understanding what to allow, what to remove, and how to respond better next time.
Because it’s never really straightforward.
The version of you that knows better today will still grow… and in due time, know even more.

It’s true—time doesn’t stop, and it’s not a respecter of people.

But time respects growth.
So In due time… Time will respect you too, it'd be forced to reckon with you.

And maybe that’s what healing really is.
Not forgetting.
Not pretending it didn’t matter.
Just… knowing it did, and still being here.

HEALED. OVERCOME.
